Case Study: Danone Christmas Party 2018
05 March 2019
Last year we were approached by world food company Danone to host its annual office Christmas party. Melanie, who was looking after the project from their end, told us that every year they like to surprise and wow their staff with a memorable and truly unique venue, so we suggested a night of rubbing shoulders with the stars at Madame Tussauds London. The result was a roaring success!
‘The entire experience of working with Merlin Events was fantastic,’ says Melanie. ‘The venue is big enough to cater for our 400-strong guest list – with lots of room for live music and mingling – and every step of the way the staff were super-efficient and happy, which helped everything go really smoothly.’
We wanted to share some of the highlights of the night with you, so you can get a flavour of what’s possible from an exclusive, private hire party at one of London’s most famous tourist attractions.
On arrival…
Danone’s staff received a festive – and branded – welcome when they arrived at the office Christmas party.
The drinks and canapés reception started at 7pm, during which guests were entertained by the brilliant brass band More or Less. The first 45 minutes of the party also saw Danone staff members enjoy the Spirit of London Ride. For anyone who hasn’t been to Madame Tussauds recently, this is a fairground-style experience which takes visitors through a journey of the history of the capital in Black Cabs. It’s fair to say no other venue can offer anything quite like it…
After settling in, guests then made their way into the World Stage area ready to enjoy a delicious bowl food menu, prepared and served by renowned London caterer Food by Dish. Street food stations also provided tasty treats from a variety of cuisines including British and Indian. There was also a vegan station and dessert canapes were circulated as the evening went on. ‘The food was one of the stand-out features of the party for the guests and myself,’ says Melanie. ‘The vegan station in particular received lots of great comments from people.’
As with every party held at Madame Tussauds, guests got the chance to hang out with our A-List celebrities while making the most of the well-stocked bar. Melanie had opted for the five-hour, unlimited package which included Prosecco, spirits, a range of wines, beers and soft drinks.
After the food had been served, the DJ on the World Stage was replaced by another band, Full Circle, and party goers made the most of the specially requested late licence, dancing until the lights came on in the wee hours at 1.30am.
‘The whole event was fantastic from start to finish,’ says Melanie. ‘I would certainly consider another Merlin Events venue again.’
